Tragedy struck at a hotel near the Maujpur Metro Station, a sombre incident unfolding late Friday. Inside the hotel room, authorities discovered two individuals, including a woman, whose lives had come to a heart-wrenching end. The police, while investigating the scene, came across what appeared to be a “suicide note,” shedding light on the tragic circumstances surrounding this event.

Tragic Love Ends in Despair
DCP Joy Tirkey of the North East region revealed that Sohrab, aged 28 and hailing from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, was found hanging from the ceiling fan by a nylon rope. Ayesha, a 27-year-old from Loni, UP, lay motionless on the bed, bearing signs of ligature marks on her neck. The “suicide note,” penned in Hindi, provided insights into a heartbreaking love story that culminated in this tragic decision.
The police were alerted to the incident at 8:05 p.m. on that fateful Friday. Sohrab and Ayesha had checked into the hotel at 1:02 p.m., reserving the room for just four hours. When they failed to emerge from the room, the hotel staff became concerned, leading to the involvement of the Beat Constable and, eventually, the police.

Probe Continues, Autopsy Awaits
As investigations unfold, the Crime Team and FSL Team are meticulously collecting evidence, examining CCTV footage, and speaking with Ayesha’s husband, Mohd Gulfam. The post-mortem examination scheduled for Saturday will shed further light on this heart-wrenching event.
