Delhi Shaken by 4.0 Magnitude Earthquake, PM Modi Urges Calm
People in Delhi experienced a 4.0 magnitude earthquake which caused tremors across neighboring states before Prime Minister Modi requested citizens to remain calm. Delhi together with neighboring states in northern India shook from an earthquake measuring 4.0 magnitude at dawn today. A gentle earthquake originated from the capital region of Delhi-NCR area at approximately 4:30 AM. The tremors generated by the 4.0 magnitude earthquake produced vibrations that could be detected through all neighboring states until Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
People living in Delhi and surrounding territories used social media platforms to disclose their experiences of awakening during the earthquake. Numerous witnesses described their beds along with their furniture shaking and moving during the few seconds of the earthquake. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) together with other authorities confirmed both readiness in dealing with the situation and a lack of potential aftershock threats.
On social media Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered messages to maintain public tranquility while announcing that government agencies monitor activities. “Urging everyone to remain calm. According to his social media post he instructed officials to determine any damages while providing needed assistance for everybody affected. Public authorities instructed citizens to practice safety protocols during possible tremors while initiating proper preparedness measures.
The area located within seismic zone IV experiences earthquakes as an ordinary phenomenon in the Delhi-NCR region. Tremor pattern research by experts leads to improvements in early warning systems. The emergency response teams operate at a state of readiness to perform their duties if circumstances require it.
The city staff highlights earthquake readiness because of the recent short-lived earthquake warning. The earthquake that occurred today did not result in any destruction yet underscores the importance of being alert when living in a seismic zone.
