The Delhi Metro was at its best on 20 th August to achieve its highest daily ridership ever. The network received staggering a 77. 48 lakh passenger journeys, thus surpassing its earlier high of 72. 38 lakh set on August 13, 2023 The benchmark is 17 percent higher than an earlier target of establishing 32 lakh set in December 2017. This achievement is a landmark for DMRC as it gives the proof of its constant growth, evidencing urban society’s increased focus on this type of transit.

Of course, the DMRC delighted to declare such a record through the X (formerly Twitter), while stressing the significance of such a record. The total passenger traffic was recorded at 77,48,838 on August 20 going far ahead of earlier records of 71. On February 13, the target of 09 lakh has been extended, and a total of 071 has been granted. 07 lakh on 12 August when the CPI was at 19039 points. It is evident from the increase in the number of riders in the Delhi Metro network as people and businesses extend their geographical coverage.
As a result of that rise in the number of passengers, the DMRC was able to bring the operations up to par with the flow of passengers by providing trains to meet the demand. This monumental strategy was aimed at enabling the passengers to have unhampered movement towards their intended destinations.

Currently, Delhi Metro is a network of about 393 kilometers with 2888 stations including Noida-Greater Noida Metro Corridor and Rapid Metro Gurugram.
