Women Not Happy That Delhi Metro Allows Passengers To Carry 2 Sealed Liquor Bottles

In a recent update Delhi Metro allowed passengers to carry 2 sealed liquor bottles. However, drinking alcohol still remains prohibited inside the train. Earlier permission to carry alcohol was only on the Airport Express line.

“A committee comprising officials from CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) and DMRC have reviewed the list and as per the revised list, two sealed liquor bottles can be carried, per person, on the Delhi Metro, at par with the provisions on the Airport Express Line.”

This clarification was given from the official Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Twitter account when a user enquired about the same.

Though the decision seems to have made a lot of men happy, some women have expressed their reservations. They believe that this will put security at risk as there is no way to guarantee that people are not drinking inside the metro. Though the Delhi Metro has maintained that strict action will be taken against those found to be drinking on the metro premises, there is still fear that the rule will be taken advantage of.

Delhi metro is the lifeline of Delhi and one of the most efficient and commonly used public transports. It is an exceptional service that has made the lives of Delhiites easier. In recent times, a lot of news about “inappropriate” activities inside the Delhi metro has gone viral, but DMRC has been quick to clarify and take appropriate action.

In other news, the Delhi metro has now made it easier to get tickets through their online app where passengers can get hassle-free mobile QR tickets.
