Delhi in a sorry state of affairs, says finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman says that Delhi’s AAP has not kept its promises to people and is in a sorry state of affairs.

In the ‘Sarv Samaj Sammelan’ hosted by BJP in Delhi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman talked about Arvind Kejriwal and how Delhi is in a sorry state of affairs. 

What did Nirmala Sitharaman say?

She said-  “The money for welfare of the poor has been spent on building Sheesh Mahal for Kejriwal. He keeps Punjab Chief Minister by his side so that he could use his aircraft whose expenses are paid using money of the taxpayers of Punjab.”

Keriwal’s Intentions Not Clean

She further added that,  “In 2012, Kejriwal said that Sharad Pawar has a Swiss Bank account and claimed to have his bank account number. He also accused Lalu Prasad of corruption in 2013 and charged that he had earned crores of rupees in fodder scam. Now, he is meeting them which shows his intentions are not clean.”

AAP has not kept promises made to people 

Sitharaman also highlighted how the AAP had not kept its promises of building 1000 mohalla clinics and had only 520 of them ready to date. She also added how the APP government had deprived its people of taking benefit of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme.

She talked about how India, under PM Modi has emerged as one of the fastest growing economies, while Delhi, under the rule of AAP was in a “sorry state” of affairs. 

While the Centre has been working hard to provide people with welfare schemes that help them, seven ministers of the AAP government have been to jail in this period from 2015. 

While the tussle between the Centre and Delhi continues, Arvind Kejriwal has called a meeting of the National Capital Civil Service Authority on June 20. The Authority was formed by the Centre on 19th May to discuss executive control over services. The Chief Minister is the chairman of the authority, however, Kejriwal calls the authority a “farce.”
