A 20-year-old Delhi college student was raped near her apartment last week by Ravi Solanki, who posed as a policeman and exploited an explicit video as a means to commit the crime. Solanki was arrested on Thursday by the authorities.

Deceptive Ruse In Delhi Rape
The incident unfolded on July 7 when Solanki allegedly filmed the young woman and her boyfriend inside the latter’s car using a mobile phone. Subsequently, he tailed their vehicle on his motorcycle and waited as the boyfriend dropped her off outside her apartment in Prashant Vihar.
Rapist’s Deception Of Brutal Attack
Entering the apartment building, Solanki discovered the victim on the stairs and claimed to be a police officer. Manipulating her fears, he presented the video and threatened to disseminate it online. With no way to defend herself, she was attacked on the spot, raped on the staircase, and the assailant swiftly fled the scene, as reported by the police.

Blind Case Cracked:
Upon confiding it to her boyfriend, the couple promptly reported the crime to the authorities. The police, faced with a “blind case” due to the perpetrator being unknown to the victim, relied on evidence such as a composite sketch based on the woman’s account and surveillance footage to locate the accused individual.
