Not A Voter Of Delhi’: BJP Counters AAP MP Sanjay Singh’s Claims Over His Wife’s Name

Amit Malviya, the national convener of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s IT cell, has refuted claims made by Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh that the BJP tried to remove his wife’s name from the voters list in New Delhi. Malviya pointed out that Sanjay Singh’s wife, Anita Singh, is actually a voter in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and not in Delhi, so it’s not possible for her name to be removed from the Delhi voters list. He shared pictures of Anita Singh’s election affidavit on social media, which shows her listed as a voter in Sultanpur. Malviya also questioned how Sanjay Singh’s wife could be voting in Delhi if she’s registered in Uttar Pradesh, suggesting that this could be a crime under the law.

Sanjay Singh had accused the BJP of trying to delete his wife’s name from the voters list in the New Delhi Assembly constituency, which is represented by AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. He claimed that two applications were filed to delete his wife’s name from the list, and that the BJP was targeting him because he had raised the issue of Purvanchali voters being deleted from the list in Delhi.

The BJP has denied these allegations, and has instead accused the AAP of helping illegal immigrants get voter IDs. The party has also alleged that the AAP is trying to manipulate the electoral list in the New Delhi constituency, with Kejriwal accusing the BJP of carrying out “Operation Lotus” to delete names of voters from the list. The controversy has highlighted the intense rivalry between the two parties ahead of the upcoming elections in Delhi.
