Dausa Borewell Rescue: Two-Year-Old Girl Safely Saved After 18-Hour Operation
Two-year-old Neeru Gurjar was rescued after 18 hours trapped in a Dausa borewell. Thanks to the tireless efforts of rescue teams, she is now safe.
Dausa Borewell Rescue Operation: Two-Year-Old Neeru Gurjar Safely Recovered After 18 Hours Trapped in Deep Borewell
This is one of the longest rescue operations which lasted almost 18hours and saved two-and-a-half-year-old Neeru Gurjar who had fallen into a borewell in Jodhpura village, Dausa. The rescue operation took place on the Wednesday evening when Neeru, a three-year-old girl slipped into the 600-feet deep borewell while playing.

The operation was initiated right on time with the SDRF, NDRF and now the local police trying their best to save Neeru. They employed a JCB that they made another tunnel right beside the borewell and kept checking on her condition through the cameras. However, there was a lot of rain early in the day which affected the track condition as well as some more showers during the race though the teams endured all this. A total of 31 feet of ground was excavated alongside the bore well and horizontal drilling of additional 12 feet was carried out.
Assistant Commander of the NDRF, Yogesh Kumar, said the child was alive and so the rescue teams were responding to his needs appropriately. “The child is receiving oxygen and our main challenge is to make her comfortable despite the unfavourable weather situation,” Kumar stated. This operation was in progress and several officials including District Collector of Nellore Devendra Kumar were present on the scene.

A raincoat and an umbrella was put up tent to protect the rescuers from the rain while medical personnel provided Neeru with the things that she required like fresh milk, bananas, and biscuits. A 17-foot wide tunnel was also made for her escape as well as for her bodily removal from the structure.
The official of the district police also spoke and the Superintendent of Police Ranjita Sharma said that the rescue teams are doing an excellent job without a break. Concerning the safe recovery of this young girl, she said, “We are ready to get her back home safely.” The operation was a success and Neeru was discharged happy after her worried family had come to receive her.
