Congress faced criticism from allies, BJP Emerges Victorious

Congress faced criticism from allies after losing Haryana elections to BJP's effective strategy

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut emphasized the need for collaboration among opposition parties

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed a decisive victory in the Haryana assembly elections, winning 48 out of 90 seats. In contrast, the Congress party secured 37 seats, leading to intense criticism from its allies within the INDIA bloc. This defeat has raised questions about the Congress party’s strategy, particularly its decision to contest the elections without forming alliances with smaller parties.

Sanjay Raut, a leader from Shiv Sena (UBT), openly criticized Congress for its failure to collaborate with other political factions. He noted that the Congress believed it could win independently, which ultimately led to its downfall. “The INDIA alliance could not win in Haryana because Congress felt they would win on their own. If they had shared seats with the Samajwadi Party, AAP, or other smaller parties, the results would have been different,” Raut stated.

Raut further praised the BJP’s campaign strategy, saying, “The way the BJP fought the elections is commendable. They won what many believed would be a lost battle.” He highlighted the BJP’s systematic approach and effective management as key factors in their electoral success, contrasting it with the Congress’s approach, which he described as lacking collaboration.

In the aftermath of the Haryana elections, Congress is reportedly engaging in discussions with Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar’s NCP-SP regarding seat-sharing arrangements for the upcoming Maharashtra elections. The party aims to strengthen its position by forming alliances to avoid a repeat of its recent electoral setbacks.

Despite the disappointing results in Haryana, Raut emphasized that the INDIA bloc had achieved success in Jammu and Kashmir, attributing this victory to the leadership of Farooq Abdullah and the effective collaboration within the alliance. “We won in J-K because the INDIA bloc was united under Abdullah’s leadership,” he noted, indicating a possible path forward for the Congress in future elections.
