On Wednesday evening, an explosion occurred at a house in Chandigarh’s Sector 10 area. The blast is suspected to have been caused by a low-intensity grenade. Although no one was injured, the explosion damaged some windows and garden pots at the property.

According to the police, surveillance cameras captured footage of two men near the house just before the explosion.one of the persons was seen in a white T-shirt. They were seen arriving in an autorickshaw and were spotted lurking around the area. The explosion happened shortly after they were first seen on camera.

After the blast, the suspects fled the scene in the autorickshaw, narrowly avoiding a collision with a white car as they sped away. The police have been informed that the grenade was thrown by two people who arrived in the autorickshaw.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kanwardeep Kaur and other officials quickly responded to the scene after being notified about the explosion around 5:30 pm. The SSP stated that the house owner reported seeing the suspects in the autorickshaw before the grenade was thrown. The complainants were on their porch when the incident occurred.

The police are investigating whether the explosion was due to personal grudges or other reasons. They are reviewing CCTV footage from various cameras in the area to identify the suspects and understand their movements.

Chandigarh police have announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for information leading to the suspects’ identification. The police have released photos of the suspects and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward. The footage from different checkpoints and angles shows the suspects moving in the autorickshaw and on foot. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover the motive behind the attack.
