On the first anniversary of the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol at the Ayodhya-based Ram Mandir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the nation on Sunday, remembering hundreds of years of devotion and struggle. The 22nd January 2024 marked the momentous ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, led by PM Modi, who executed the main rites, making a momentous moment for spirituality in India.

The Prime Minister in his message on X said, “Best wishes to all countrymen on the first anniversary of the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. This temple, built after centuries of sacrifice, penance, and struggle, is a great heritage of our culture and spirituality.” He added, “The divinity in the form of Ram Mandir is an inspiration for the development and progress of India.”.

The grand anniversary celebrations, scheduled from January 11 to 13, have been meticulously organized to include devotees who missed the original event last year. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has extended invitations to around 110 VIPs and countless devotees to join the festivities at Ayodhya’s Angad Teela site.

The Uttar Pradesh government announced that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the event by performing the ceremonial ‘Abhishek’ of Ram Lalla. Adding to the spiritual ambiance, Ram Lalla will don a specially crafted ‘Pitambari’ outfit woven with gold and silver threads, symbolizing divine splendor.

Overall, the celebrations shall provide a holistic spiritual and cultural experience. A German hangar tent at Angad Teela, which can accommodate nearly 5,000, has been erected so that various activities may be witnessed by the public. The three-day celebration will witness classical cultural performances, daily Ram Katha discourses, and rituals performed at the Yagnashala. Another activity the devotees shall benefit from is the ‘prasad’ distribution each morning, building a community of shared devotion.

Champat Rai, General Secretary Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said: “This time, the management has made sufficient efforts to enlist more devotees so that their participation in celebrations is more widened.” Ram Katha sessions would begin at 2 pm with discourses followed by cultural presentations on the text of Ramcharitmanas.

This first anniversary of the consecration of the Ram Mandir is a celebration not just of faith but also of perseverance of millions of people who made this historic journey possible. The Ram Mandir, where Ayodhya echoes with devotional chants and cultural expressions, symbolizes the Indian cultural and spiritual heritage inspiring future generations.
