CBSE Boards 2025: Final Deadline for Schools to Apply for Facilities for CwSN Students Ends Today

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared that today is the last date for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) to apply for facilities or exemptions for the board exams of 2025. Students who are going to appear for the Class 10 and Class 12 exams need to make sure that their schools complete all the procedures before the window closes.

CBSE opens portal for CWSN students to avail exam facilities

To make this possible, CBSE has clearly given guidelines to be followed by the schools. Schools are asked to enter their login credentials in the Pariksha Sangam portal. If previously submitted requests were submitted to CBSE directly using the offline mode or some other mode, then they are required to be uploaded to the portal within the period defined. CBSE has made it clear that once the deadline is over no offline or late requests shall be accepted. Also, as per the schedule defined above for submitting these requests no relaxation shall be made regarding this schedule.

The rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 has also reminded the schools about the need to provide inclusive education for the CwSN students. Section 16 of the same act provides for all the government-funded or recognized educational institutions to make the best arrangements in providing opportunities for education, sports, and recreation to a person with disability. This call for a conducive atmosphere to nurture such inclusive practices was again reminded by CBSE to its schools.

CBSE will start its board examinations from February 15, 2025, for the academic year 2024-25. Class 10 exams will be completed by March 18 and Class 12 by April 4. This year, around 44 lakh students will take the exams at various centers in India and 26 countries abroad.

The deadline is set as a reminder to prepare and submit in time to take advantage of such vital facilities. Schools and parents are advised to respond quickly so that the benefits of exemptions can be passed on to CwSN students. The measures will allow for fair testing conditions and ensure that the concept of inclusive education is upheld.

With the clock ticking on the deadline, CBSE’s directive serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility of educators, administrators, and families to support the educational needs of all students. As the board exams approach, the initiative ensures that no child is left behind in accessing the resources and accommodations necessary for their success.
