Today at 10:30 am, the Supreme Court is set to hear the rape and murder case of RG Kar, a doctor. The CBI investigation into the subject will be updated for the SC bench, which is chaired by CJI Chandrachud.
CBI To Submit Fresh Status Report As SC Resumes Hearing In Kolkata Doctor’s Rape, Murder Case Today; About The Probe So Far
The rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s R.G. Kar Medical College is a case that the Supreme Court bench, presided over by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, will continue to hear. The start time of the hearing is 10:30 a.m.
In relation to the matter, the Enforcement Directorate has so far conducted a raid on the home of TMC MLA Dr. Sudipto Roy. At Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Roy is in charge of the Patients Welfare Committee.
Following their meeting on September 15, 2024, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared that she will accept the majority of the junior physicians’ five-point charter of demands.

The Bench had requested that the West Bengal government implement safety precautions for doctors in the workplace in addition to a new CBI report, without waiting for the National Task Force of the Supreme Court to finish its reform report. The hearing’s advocates have begun to arrive in the courtroom. The case will be heard by a bench consisting of Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, chaired by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud.
