BSNL reports 2.17 lakh new connections in July, prepares for 4G rollout in Andhra Pradesh
In the state of Andhra Pradesh, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced 2.17 lakh new connections in July. According to a report posted on platform X by BSNL Andhra Pradesh, the overall number of connections has surpassed 40 lakhs with these new activations (previously Twitter).

Following a revision in rates by private telecom operators in July 2024, these additional numbers have been added. In the final week of July, TelecomTalk announced that BSNL AP had achieved a significant milestone: 1 lakh SIM activations in just 23 days.
Launch of BSNL 4G Services
Beginning on August 15, BSNL will provide 4G service in Andhra Pradesh’s major cities. As 4G technology services are made accessible by BSNL, people are reportedly expressing interest in obtaining new mobile connections (SIM cards) from the company. Additionally, BSNL is offering special camps where customers may upgrade from 2G to 4G on their SIM cards.
Expanding Networks in Remote and Tribal Areas
According to reports, BSNL 4G services will go live throughout the state by the end of September, with various stages of development presently underway on antennas, base transceiver stations (BTS), and core network infrastructure. With 1,200 additional towers being installed in communities, BSNL AP is also extending its network into isolated tribal areas. According to officials quoted in the report, by the end of the month, BSNL services will be accessible in the villages of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, East Godavari, Kurnool, and other districts.
