On Thursday, Bharatiya Janata Party released its first list of candidates for the assembly election of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. BJP released the names of 21 candidates for the upcoming assembly election of Chhattisgarh and the names of 39 candidates for Madhya Pradesh.
The names were selected at a meeting of the BJP’s Central Election Committee on Wednesday, which was held by the party’s leader J P Nadda and attended by senior leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah, and others.
Laxmi Rajwade, Shakuntala Singh Porthe, Sarla Kosaria, Alka Chandrakar, and Geeta Ghasi Sahu are among the five female candidates whose names are on the list. A distant relative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Durg MP Vijay Baghel’s name is also there on the list. Vijay Baghel will run for the Patan assembly seat in the election.
In order to give candidates more time to campaign, the first list of candidates for Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh was announced early.
