Supreme Court Set to Hear Arvind Kejriwal’s Bail Petition Today in High-Profile Delhi Excise Policy Scam Case Amidst Extended Custody and Ongoing CBI Investigation
The verdict as to the admissibility of the respondents’ criminal complaint as well as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bail application is expect to be made by the Supreme Court of India today in connection with the Delhi excise policy scandal. This critical hearing comes after series of legal battles and elongated custody matters that has afflicted Kejriwal recently. On Tuesday, the judicial custody was extended until September 11 by the Delhi High Court and due to this, Kejriwal challenged the Delhi High court and went to Supreme court for relief.

Besides, there are other important personalities: Satyendar Jain, Amit Arora, Vinod Chauhan, Ashish Mathur, P. Sarath Reddy including Kejriwal which has been named in the CBI’s fourth supplementary chargesheet filed on July 30. From the allegations made by the CBI the agency seem to be pointing that Kejriwal was a key player in the conspiracy related to the excise policy and was connected with the South group the network facilitated by K. Kavitha Raghav Magunta and some other persons more.

A series of Kejriwal’s legal problems started on the 21st of March when he was arrested by the anti-money laundering agency after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him interim protection. His arrest, and subsequent detention by the CBI on June 26, raised political caldron between the Union government and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

In ED Case, Kejriwal was provided bail by the Supreme Court on July 12, however, he is still rotting in Tihar Jail because of the ongoing CBI investigation. Today’s hearing could turn out to be the most crucial one in so far as his fate is concerned in the near future.
