The discord started when the ED arrested Kejriwal on March 21, following the Delhi High Court denying him interim bails against arrest. This led to his arrest by the CBI on June 26 and he was placed in judicial custody. The CBI filed its fourth supplementary charge-sheet on July 30 which includes Kejriwal’s name as accused number three in the conspiracy. This charge sheet is set for the next discussion on August 12.
The applicants, including AAP leader Kejriwal who applied for bails in the CBI case, could not be accommodated after the Delhi High Court rejected his appeals on August 5. This brings the total of AAP leaders apprehended to three after the arrest of former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh both implicated in this high-profile sting operation.
