IAF Chief AP Singh highlights China’s infrastructure expansion along LAC, India also upgrading border defenses
Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh stated that China is rapidly building infrastructure along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), particularly in the Ladakh region, while India is also enhancing its infrastructure along the border. Speaking at a press conference ahead of Air Force Day, AP Singh emphasized the importance of having indigenous weapon systems to address future security challenges.

He expressed his vision for the Indian Air Force, stating, “The Indian Air Force should have its entire inventory produced in India by 2047.” This aligns with the ongoing efforts to strengthen India’s defense capabilities.
When asked about India’s missile systems, AP Singh confirmed that three units of the S-400 missile systems had been delivered by Russia, with a promise to deliver the remaining two units by next year.
AP Singh recently assumed the role of Chief of the Indian Air Force, taking over from Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, who retired after a three-year tenure. With nearly 40 years of service, AP Singh has held various Command, Staff, Instructional, and Foreign appointments, showcasing his extensive experience.
He is an alumnus of several prestigious military institutions, including the National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College, and National Defence College. AP Singh is a Qualified Flying Instructor and an Experimental Test Pilot. He has over 5,000 hours of flying experience on a wide range of fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. His leadership is expected to play a crucial role in navigating the evolving security landscape and ensuring the preparedness of the Indian Air Force.
