N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, charged on Wednesday that the Tirupati laddu was made with animal fat by the former YSRCP government. But the assertion has been denied by the party.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) manage the esteemed Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirupati, where the Tirupati laddu is served. According to PTI, the chief minister stated at a party gathering on Wednesday that inferior ingredients were once used to make laddus. “Even Tirumala laddu was made with substandard ingredients…they used animal fat instead of ghee,” he said.
Nara Lokesh, the IT minister for Andhra Pradesh, also criticized the former YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administration for the problem. Our holiest temple is the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala. He expressed his dismay at finding that animal fat rather than ghee was utilized in the Tirupati Prasadam by the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administration.
However, Chandrababu Naidu’s accusation was described as “malicious” by senior YSRCP leader and former TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy, who also stated that the TDP chief will “stoop to any level for political gain”.
In an attempt to increase followers’ trust, the former TTD chairman challenged the chief minister to swear before the god about this matter with his family. He then invited Naidu to follow suit.
