Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Praful Patel, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister, and Apna Dal (Soneylal) leader Anupriya Patel, along with HAM’s Jitan Ram Manjhi, paid their respects to the late former prime minister. Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s daughter Namita Kaul Bhattacharya also offered floral tributes at the Sadaiv Atal memorial on his death anniversary.

He highlighted that India greatly benefited from Atal Ji’s leadership, emphasizing his pivotal role in advancing the nation across various sectors and assisting it into the 21st century.

Vajpayee Non-Congress PM Legacy
Vajpayee, born in Gwalior in 1924, was a prominent pase in the BJP for many years. He holds the distinction of being the first non-Congress prime minister to complete a full term in office. Serving as India’s Prime Minister from May 16, 1996, to June 1, 1996, and again from March 19, 1998, to May 22, 2004, he also held the position of External Affairs Minister under Prime Minister Moraji Desai’s cabinet from 1977 to 1979. Vajpayee passed away at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi on August 16, 2018.

In 2014, after assuming office, PM Modi established December 25 as Good Governance Day to honor Atal Ji, who was also a recipient of the Bharat Ratna. This day is celebrated each year in commemoration of Vajpayee’s birth date.He was a true leader who continues to inspire us Indians even today.
