Kamal Haasan Announces Departure from Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8: Cites Prior Cinematic Commitments and Expresses Gratitude to Fans and Crew
Bigg Boss Tamil’s host Kamal Haasan has decided not to host the eighth season of the show, which signals change in the series format. Due to these reasons Haasan who has been the host of the show since its inception in the year 2017 stated that he can longer continue to host the show primarily because of prior cinematic commitments.

During his last live episode on X (formerly Twitter), Haasan had a message from the fanboys and girls, he chuckling, and said, “I have been privileged to reach you in your homes, you people have been so kind enough to love me and that is something for which i will be for ever grateful to you.” He said that he enjoyed the time being the host as he got the chance to share his knowledge with the people. Haasan also thanked the channel and the other members of the show, assuring they can pull off an excellent season even without him.

Rumors of Haasan’s departure started making rounds on the internet after the final episode of the 6th season which is scheduled to be aired in January 2023. At the time, speculations were made that Haasan was planning on leaving the show to produce films and not be caught up with the hosting duties. There were reports suggesting that the perception of the diminution of viewership contributed towards his decision as well. However, push has come to shove and the official reason that has been attributed to Haasan’s exit is that he has numerous films that he is working on currently, implying that he continues to pursue his interest in films.
