5 Common Skincare Mistakes You’re Probably Making and How to Avoid Them for Healthier, Radiant Skin
For sure, the skin would be healthy and strong only when it is treated with proper care. One could make so many mistakes, unaware of his mistake even with a good intention. Here are five common skincare mistakes everyone should avoid and how to fix them.
1. Overwashing your face
It is great to clean the skin, but washing too much makes the natural oil in your skin disappear, thus causing dryness and irritation. Many people assume that washing their face often cleanses it of dirt and removes acne, which is not true as it breaks down the protective skin barrier. Reduce your face washing to twice a day, morning and at night, with a gentle cleanser for your skin type.

2. Forgetting Sunscreen
One of the biggest skincare mistakes is not daily use of sunscreen. It has been proven that UV rays can cause early aging, sunburn, and even a tendency toward skin cancers. Even though it may be a cloudy day, UV rays penetrate windows indoors and damage your skin. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a SPF of 30 or higher; apply every two hours if spending time outdoors.
3. Using Too Much Product
In the quest for perfect skin, many of us load up on a whole bunch of products. Overwhelming your skin can cause irritation, redness, or even breakouts. Too much can also make it hard to know which of the products work. Keep things simple with a cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and one or two targeted treatments if needed.
4. Not Removing Makeup Before Bed
The biggest skincare faux pas is sleeping in makeup. Makeup clogs pores and holds dirt and oils inside the pores that lead to acne and dullness of skin. Clean off your makeup before bed using a light makeup remover or micellar water followed by a deep cleanse so that your skin is fresh and clean.

5. Not exfoliating enough or over-exfoliating
This finally makes dead skin cells fall out, and the skin eventually becomes dull. Over-exfoliating, however, will cause extreme sensitivity and damage. On the other hand, failure to exfoliate might at times leave the skin dullest and roughest. This is to be prevented by ensuring that one exfoliates around 1-3 times per week for their type of skin either by a chemical or physical exfoliant that would fit one’s needs.
Avoid these most common mistakes and, in their stead, institute a balanced skincare routine to assure healthy, radiant, and robust skin. Pay attention to what your skin needs and respond in the right measure!
