DIY: How to make desi sunscreen cream at home

- 1 tablespoon beeswax pellets

- 2 tablespoons zinc oxide powder
- 1 teaspoon carrot seed oil (optional, for additional SPF)
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 cup shea butter

How To Make?
- Prepare a double boiler: Fill a saucepan with 2-3 inches of water and place it over the stove flame. Put a heatproof bowl on the saucepan, transforming the pot into a double boiler.
- Melt ingredients: Add in the coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax just as they are. Keep the temperature low, around medium to low and stir the ingredients occasionally until the are all melted.
- Add zinc oxide: When the mix is all fully melted, then remove it from the fire away, and let it to cool well. Ensure adding the zinc oxide powder in a measured amount, and mixing well with the other ingredients to obtain an equal distribution.
- Optional ingredients: Moreover, if you apply carrot seed oil and essential oils, make sure to mix them into your mixture and stir until combined.
- Transfer to container: Empty the sunscreen cream content into a purified, sealed container, for example, glass or tin jar. Place it in the fridge and wait until it becomes cold enough to be sealed into the container.
- Store and use: Keep your self-made desi sunscreen cream in a cool and dark area, where sunlight won’t reach. Apply generously to all skin areas before sun exposure, reapplying every two hours or more frequently if you are swimming or sweating.
