Brazilian Influencer Debora Peixoto Sparks Controversy with Feces Face Mask: A Bizarre Skincare Trend That Raises Health Concerns and Internet Disgust
Brazilian influencer Debora Peixoto is back in the news again having recently been in trouble for another ridiculous beauty regimen – excrement. The 31-year-old star, who previously bragged about using cow’s dung as a cosmetic product, posted a video that shows her applying a face mask made from feces to try and advertise the fact that it has benefits for her skin and will help her look younger.

In the Instagram video, Peixoto, who now has over 658,000 followers, is seen pouring over her own feces, which has been put into a container and then rubbed into her facial skin like a mask. To address the issue of smell, she keeps her nose pinched with a clothespin while the mask remains on her face for a few minutes before washing it off. Despite such weird treatment, Peixoto stands tall and asserts that the treatment has had positive effect on her skin, in a way that her skin is less flaky as she was made to be.
However, the audience of healthcare professionals has not allowed her unique treatment plan for severe back pain to go unnoticed. Another critic was Dr. Sophie Momen, a consultant dermatologist, who pointed out the absence of scientific evidence supporting the medical use of feces in the production of creams, lotions, and other beauty products. The strange trend drew a comment from Dr. Momen: “This must be one of the strangest trends that I’ve come across.” She was keen to point out that such practices could be quite risky for an individual’s health since they could lead to bacterial/viral infection.

Mr. Tunc Tiryaki, a member of the Association of Plastic Surgeons, also uncovered the risks of applying feces to the skin as it brings bacteria as well as parasite, E.coli, and Salmonella risking serious skin infections. He definitely discouraged it, and instead encouraged the use of current products that have been developed based on science.
The reaction on the social media platforms have also not been different as many users shower their disgust and concern on their timelines. Finally one reader nailed it when he said, “This is why aliens don’t talk to us.
