According to a research, women need more sleep than men because of their complex brain. Scientists have found that around 20 minutes more sleep was needed by women compared to men. They have informed that women need more than men because brain of a woman works harder than a man during the day. Notably, the study was carried out on the sample set of 210 middle aged men and women.

In our body “one of the major function of sleeping is to allow of the brain to recover and repair itself”. “During deep sleeping”- the part of the brain responsible for thought memory and language disconnected from the senses and goes into recovery mode”.

The amount of sleeping depends on the complexity and intensity of the brain activity during the day.
Women tends to multi task and they do lots of work at once and are flexible, so they use more of their actual brain than men do. That is why women need more sleep than men.
