Apple has Setup its first R&D Centre in China: Reports
Apple has Setup its first R&D Centre in China: Reports:- American multinational technology company, Apple Inc. has reportedly setup its first ever Research & Development (R&D) centre in China.
China witnesses the first R&D centre with an initial investment of CNY 100 million. In simplified term, $15 million or let us even consider a rough estimate of Rs. 99,878 crores.
Set-Up Trivia
According to China daily, the centre will set up in the area of Wangjing in Beijing. It is also said that the center will see nearly 5pp employees. In addition, the investment will cross CNY 300 million ($45 million or as an estimate of 299,634 crores). The word is spread by the administrative committee of Zhongguancun Science Park via social media.
Apple CEO Tim Cook, during his visit in August to China had pledged to set-up a fully fledged facility of R&D in the country. Undoubtedly with the investment figures Apple is giving tough time in China.
Reports also states, the centre will focus on developing computers, softwares, audio and video devices which also include the other consumer electronics.
In addition apple spokesperson said, “We look forward to expanding our operations in China with a new research and development centre as we continue to grow our talented team here.”

In May, Apple invested $1 billion into Didi Chuxing, China’s biggest ride-hailing platform.
Moreover, with the R&D setup Apple and Chinese bank card association Union Pay Shoppers also launched Apple Pay earlier this year. Apple is certainly giving tough and increasing investments.
Cook even stated, last year that China would be Apple’s largest market within two years. Therefore, the number of Apple stores in China would almost double to 40 within that time particular frame.
Apple is continuously trying to expand its business in China. The report also added that the centre will focus on developing computers, softwares and video devices.
