Ex-coal secretary HC Gupta , he has been accused for several coal scam cases, on Tuesday, moved a special court seeking to surrender his bail, said that he wanted to “face trial from inside jail”.
During the procedure, an emotional accused Gupta gave an application to withdraw his personal bond submitted earlier for his release on bail.

The senior bureaucrat verified to the court that Gupta really is not in a position to bear the financial burden of litigation and sought to withdraw the authorisation letter issued in favour of his lawyers.
He even did not wish to examine any witness in his defence.
The court had dismissed Gupta’s plea seeking joint trial in several cases in May against him related to the above matter, saying all the matters were at different stages.
