Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has sanctioned 3 lakh to all the 23 people, who had developed eye infection after undergoing the cataract surgeries at the Mettur Government Hospital last month, this Sunday.
An official release has said that the chief minister has also sanctioned a monthly pension of Rs. 1,000 each under the differently abled person’s pension scheme to their families.

The release stated that each patient was immediately given advanced treatment at the other hospitals after which two were regained complete vision.
For 17 patients, the eye infection is now under control, while four continue to further receive the treatment.
