Test fire of Agni I

The Agni I Missile was test fired on Monday at 9.15 am off the Odisha coast. The test fire was successfully carried out without any issues cropping up.

The missile has the power to hit targets that are located 700 km away from the point of firing. The test fire was carried out by the army at launch pad-4 of the ITR (Integrated Test Range), which is located at the Abdul Kalam Island.

The missile took 9 minutes and 36 seconds to cover the distance of 700 km.

The missile is typically 15m in height and weighs 12,000 kg. It has been designed by DRDO ( Defence Research and Development Organisation)
