The non-affiliated school boards include ICSE(Indian Certificate of Secondary Education), IGCSE(International General Certification of Secondary Education) and CBSE(Central Board of Secondary Education).

Tawde said without teaching Marathi no NOC (Non-objection-certificate), which is necessary after every 3 years to run the school, will be given to the school.

Adding to this he said that history of Chhatrapati Shivaji should also be taught as a mandate subject.
The resolution will be passed in the legislature and then sent to the Union Minister.

However the schools poised that they already have been teaching Marathi language from standard 1 to 8th, so what is new or mandatory that government is trying to inflict.

Directors, teachers and principals of various schools in Maharashtra expressed their confusion, saying that Shivaji’s history and Marathi are a proactive part of their curriculum, irrespective of the board they belong to.
