Centre for Science and Environment blamed the festival of Lohiri and the bonfires burnt throughout the city as one of the reasons for poor air quality in Delhi.
According to Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune and Delhi Pollution Control Committees registered air pollution readings that were seven to eight times above normal.
