Abhinav Bindra will not take part in Asian Shooting Event
World-class shooter and gold medalist in Olympics, Abhinav Bindra has decided to leave out the Asian Olympic qualification shooting event, to be held this month, to give chance to his other players to qualify for the Rio Olympic Games.
The venue of the competition is Dr Karni Singh Shooting, which will be held between January 25 to February 3 is an Olympic qualification event.
Apart from Bindra, the other two players Apurvi Chandela and Mairaj Khan will also not be seen in action. Host country India has registered 64 shooters.
However, China, who had not participated in the 8th Asian Airgun Championship, will be sending a team which consists of 15 members, out of which 12 are in the shotgun events while the other three shooters will be competing in the 50m rifle event.
