Today at the launch of media campaign on Hepatitis, superstar Amitabh Bacchan revealed that he is surviving only on 25% of his liver and lost 75% to the deadly virus hepatitis B.
Amitabh Bacchan said that, “I was infected with this virus accidentally. After my accident on the sets of coolie, I was infused with the blood of about 200 donors and 60 bottles of blood were injected to my system. This Hepatitis B had been detected only 3 months ago. One of my blood donors was carrying this deadly virus which went into my system. Almost after 18 years of the accident, during normal medical check -up I was told about this condition.”
Amitabh Bacchan was very elated with the doctors and medical facilities of the India. And especially with the workers who go to rural areas to administer vaccine doses.
