Federer struggle hard to defeat Nishikori at ATP World Tour Finals
Swiss maestro and currently no. 3 in world rankings, Roger Federer emerged as the top player of his group after defeating Kei Nishikori of Japan in a breathtaking three-set round-robin match at the ATP world tour finals.
The 17-time Grand Slam champion ended Nishikori’s struggle and claimed a 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 win over the Japanese in a thrilling contest that lasted for two hours and 10 minutes.
The Swiss sensation had already secured his semi-final spot after ending Novak Djokovic’s three-month, 23-match winning record. Federer will next face either Andy Murray or Stan Wawrinka in the final.
