Moon of Mars headed for doom!
Mars has two moons, the larger of which is Phobos. However Phobos is in trouble, as it is closest to Mars, at mere distance of 6 thousand kilometres.
Gravitational pull from Mars is pulling Phobos towards it, and it’s eventual doom. Phobos, which is being sucked towards Mars at 2 meters per year, has developed fissures on it’s surface, showing the stress being experienced by the moon.
Phobos is expected to be destroyed anytime between 30 to 50 million years.
