India’s Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan has been serving on the Board of Directors of Board of International Settlement since 2013.
However, in a move which has surprised many, Rajan has now been appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIS for three years till 2018.
It may be noted that Board of International Settlement, headquartered in Basel, Switzerland is like a ‘international clearing house’, interfacing between national banks of all nations.
