A recent report by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) has indicted Russia of extortion, cover-ups and doping in athletics, and has recommended a ban on the nation in international sports.
According to the agency, the 2012 Olympics in London were sabotaged by unusually high inaction against athletes who were suspected of doping, for which it has also come down hard on the IAAF, the world’s sporting governing agency.
Taking action, IAAF has asked Russia to respond within the week to the these serious allegations, and does not rule out sanctions and suspension against Russia.
