Pooja is all about worshiping the female…the Mother Goddess…the creative power of the Universe.
However, despite worshiping the female as a Goddess, we still practise female infanticide, dowry, and other heinous practices aimed at subverting the girl child.
To highlight this disparity…his paradox, Pooja pandals across Delhi NCR are celebrating the girl child. For example, Gurgaon’s oldest Pooja pandal, done by Maruti Vihar Sarbojanin Durgotsav’s theme for this year is “India Let Her Live-Save the Girl Child.”
