Taslima comes out in support of dissenting Writers
Noted writer Taslima Nasrin, the writer of “Lajja” who is currently in exile, said in a conversation with Times Of India that the recent returning of awards is a way of the writers expressing their dissatisfaction with the injustice going on.
She also feels that writers are “politically conscious people”. The most important thing that came out of this interview is when Taslima Nasrin talked about how the writers were silent when her book was banned in West Bengal, fatwas were issued against her and she was forced to leave the country.
She also feels that the “writers are of double standards when it comes to dissent”.
