Government creates 40 Thousand Ton buffer of pulses to check prices
The Government of India has decided to create a buffer stock of pulses and lentils of 40 Thousand tons in view of the ongoing shortage and resultant high prices in the market.
Government agencies will soon buy the pulses at market prices, and release them when a shortage occurs, thereby providing a stabalizing influence.
Currently prices of Tur Daal, which is perceived as a common man’s daal to reach Rs.190 per kg, taking it out of reach of most common people.
As a temporary measure, the Government will also sell imported tur daal at Mother Dairy and Kendriya Bhandaar outlets at around Rs.120 per kg.
