A 1000 year GIF – Graphics Interchange Format created!
GIFs are image loops which last a couple of seconds, before they are refreshed, and are usually used as screen savers.
However, taking the concept further, two Finnish artists have displayed a GIF which will only refres once in a 1000 years.
Called ‘As Long as Possible’, the GIF has been created using 48,140,288 frames, and uses a 12 GB of space. It works by counting from 1 to 48,140,288 at ten minute intervals, thus, will take a 1000 years to compelet it’s journey before starting again.
