UN Finds Evidence, Sri Lanka Civil War
The UN unveiled a 220-page report asking for a special International court to investigate various individuals from both sides of the conflict who were held responsible for war crimes till the end of Sri Lanka’s civil war in 2009.
In this report they found documented human rights abuse ranging from suicide attacks, torture and executions, sexual abuse by security forces and recruitment of child soldiers by the Tamil separatist extremist group also.
The report did not cite any names, as the investigation led to a wider pattern of planning and organization for these war crimes against humanity to occur.
