Unfriend your partner and save your relationship
We have always thought as couples we should be open about our social activity. It seems a lasting loving relationship can be ignited if we unfriend our significant other on social media, a digital detox for a healthy communication relationship according to a New York-based therapists Ian Kerner.
According to Mr. Kerner, a lot of the couples coming in for therapy were complaining they were not spending enough times with each other. It seems their use of Facebook and various technology-based apps and devices were interfering in their relationship boundaries.
25 percent of couples who had texted when they were both home together found their partners were distracted with their mobile phones. They were spending less time talking to each other face-to-face, causing miscommunication and arguments over how much time they were spending online.
The therapist also cited he himself was a victim also in his relationship, he unfriended his partner to enjoy more the mystery and unpredictability in their relationship than being posted online of her habits in and out, a digital detox.
