Saina, Sindhu may have Face-to-Face battle at Japan Open
Most renowned Indian shuttlers Saina Newhal and P.V. Sindhu will get a face off in the second round of women’s singles competition if they will cross the first hurdle of the $275,000 Japan open series beginning next week.
Saina Nehwal who recently won a silver medal at the recent world championship will take on world no.17 Thai Busanan Ongbumrungpan in the opening round.
The two times bronze Medalist, World champion Sindhu plays her first round against Japan’s Minatsu Mitani, ranked 18th, at the Tokyo metropolitan gymnasium from September 8 to 13.
It will be the second clash between Saina and Sindhu at the international stage after they at the 2014 India Grand Prixgold final, in which Saina had the last laugh.
