Meghalaya Glass Mosque library named after People President
The Madina Masjid in Shillong, Meghalaya, India, is the only glass mosque in the Northeast India. It paid tributes to the Late People’s President by naming its library in honour of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam vision to have a small library to encourage children to read books so that they get the habit of reading.
The four-story glass mosque is a landmark hidden within congested Shillong’s Laban area. The library on the top floor of the mosque would have literature of comparative religious studies and on other subjects besides books authored by Kalam’s rich contribution to the nation.
