SPITZER DOES IT FOR NASA
Looks like the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) is on an unaccustomed discovery spree. After the successful Pluto mission, the American space research giant has gone ahead with finding Earth’s next door neighbour, HD 219134b. This information was given out on Thursday, July 30th.
A small exoplanet, the HD 219134b is located in the Cassiopeia constellation and is just 21 light years away from our home planet and is relatively much larger in size than Earth. There were no traces of aliens or life support found on the exoplanet, although the researchers are very optimistic and buoyant that the new find will keep them busy for a great deal of time.
The scientists at NASA could make it work with the help of Spitzer, the administration’s new space telescope.
And well all of us will be looking forth to the numerous exciting data and characteristics of this new discovery for years to come!
