The delegation from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change members highlighted India’s situation and priorities in providing access to electricity to 300 million homes India’s attempt in reducing it’s carbon footprint by producing 100 GW by renewable sources has also been lauded.
Laurence Tubiana, one of the negotiators said India has already adopted policies which reflect the difference of responsibilities compared to developed countries, it needed to be accounted. It reflected the need of developed countries to take the lead by reducing their emission targets and providing finance and technology transfer fro sustainable developmental action and support.
