Things to remember about Tom Moore’s Archie comics!
Tom Moore, the man who made our childhood memorable with Iconic loveable comic characters Archie, Veronica, Betty, Jughead and others, departed for Comic Heaven yesterday. Living his last years in his home town EI Paso, Texas, Tom passed away peacefully.
Moore began drawing cartoons while he was with US Navy during the Korean War.
Here are some incredible things to remember about Archie Comics
The character of Archie was inspired by a teenager known to Moore. This adorable bumbling teenager soon became the heartthrob of teenagers worldwide.
Launched in 1941, Archies soon created a new niche in comic books, giving impetus to this industry.
With Pop Tate’s Soda Shop, the comic also encouraged the Diner and Soda Fountain culture.
Archies can also be seen as a precurser to the famous TV series FRIENDS, with it’s emphasis on friends and besties sticking together through thick and thin.
