Morning of July 8, 2015 in the capital began with the very important discussion on ‘Consultation on financing for development’ at India Habitat Center.
Research and Information system for developing countries along with the Forum for Indian Development Cooperation and the UN organized a panel discussion to talk about inclusive growth of the developing countries and how to channelize the finance.
The discussion laid emphasis on giving perks to middle class so that they can play a crucial role in development of the nation, to give them the access to productive assets of country.
Members of the panel included, Puneet Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External affairs, Professor Emeritus of Economics, Deepak Nayyar. Dr.Akmal Hussain, Distinguished Professor of Economics from Christian College, Lahore.
As UN Member States are all ready to set sustainable goals in September, which will guide development priorities for the next fifteen years.
However, there is a huge gap of finance for sustainable development, panelist came together to work on debt restructuring, resource mobilization and taxation.The critical conversation came to an end with the very crucial point of cooperation institutions that will work together to promote equality among the developing countries.
