End of two minutes story? Magic and Masala fight for survival

Instant two minutes noodles ‘Maggi’ has been banned in the capital along with some more states of our country.

India’s favorite snack is now vanished from the shelves of shops and the reasons behind this ban are the various tests that have found excess quantities of MSG (Monosodium – glutamate) and lead in it.

The issue has also created problems for celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preeti Zinta who all endorsed Maggi. But then are they really responsible for it? Let’s see what people have to say about it:

“I would like for them to be more conscious about the projects they endorse, whether Maggi or any other product. It would be interesting to know if they asked before endorsing Maggi regarding its health impact on kids. But I don’t think F.I.R would do much. There has to be some other way to hold them accountable”, says Surabhi Srivastava

“I feel as far as the celebrity endorsements are concerned, by and large, they do have a role to play when they endorse a product. People blindly follow their favorite stars without much ationale of themselves. So, if not always, I think celebrities have some corporate social responsibility to fulfill apart from the money they mint from these advertisements and they should try to corner such ads that have the power to negatively influence their audience”, says Hitaishi Chaudhary

The question arises is there any way out to reduce harmful effects of MSG and lead?

Lead is a heavy metal, that body does not excrete but rather gets accumulated in the body and can affect our kidneys, liver and nervous system. On the other hand MSG is responsible for hyper- tension in most of us.

2.Boil coriander, add some common salt or sugar as per your taste and some lemon juice. Then consume the mixture it helps to reduce the effects of MSG.

3.Intake of green tea can also reduce effects of MSG
